Signature Programs Committee

On September 17th, we coordinated a program for GFWC’s INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE, which had a theme, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention. It was sponsored by three District 4 Clubs: GFWC Lakeshore Woman’s Club, GFWC The Woman’s Club of Macclenny, and GFWC Orange Park Woman’s Club. Guests included representatives from six District 4 Clubs. Speakers were intense and informative. The banquet hall was decorated with meaningful posters, and refreshments were plentiful. The program’s intended In-Kind recipient was HOPEFULL HANDBAGS, GLOBAL, Inc. This organization supports victims of violence. Upon entering their program, each lady is provided with a handbag containing personal items. The In-Kind Donations resulted in 51 handbags being donated, valued at over $3,333.00.

Another event occurred on September 27th as our Club supported MIRIAM’S BASKET in setting up and assisting during the annual fundraising Gala. This organization serves children who must be removed from their homes due to critical situations. Its purposes are to maintain a facility to provide clothing, shoes, and medical testing. To date, and still counting, this event has raised over $13,000.00. Well done!
